The Moment Sōl Was Born
I'll never forget it.
I was sitting with my smartwatch on one wrist and my essential oils in front of me. I glanced at my watch. Then at my oils. Then back at my watch. Back and forth, back and forth.
And then I stopped.
Wait a second. What if my oils could come out of my watch?
What if, instead of just telling me I was stressed, something on my wrist could actually do something about it? A soft mist of the scents I already loved, right there in the moment I needed it, without having to stop, dig through my bag, or even think about it.
I could see it in my head, clear as day. And I felt something I had never felt before: certainty. A deep, full-body knowing that this was what I was supposed to do.
That moment didn't come out of nowhere. It came after some of the hardest years of my life.
I lost my dad. I lost my horse, Kia. I fought my way back to riding, only to be thrown and badly injured. I've lived through grief, pain, and the kind of stress that doesn't wait for a convenient time to show up.
Through it all, I kept noticing the same thing: the tools that might help were never there when I needed them. My watch could tell me my heart rate was up. It couldn't hand me a breath of lavender.
Sōl fills that gap.
Sōl is a luxury bracelet that senses when your body shows signs of stress and responds on its own with a soft, personal mist of essential oils. No buttons to find. No app to open. No need to remember to breathe when your mind is somewhere else.
I want it to be something you'd wear because it's beautiful: titanium on the outside, natural bamboo against your skin. Jewelry first. Technology woven quietly inside.
This week, I did something I'd been dreaming about since that moment with my watch: I tested the idea.
I blended my scents into a miniature atomizer and sprayed it from about hip level. I could smell it clearly within a foot or two. Then I had a friend stand about two feet away while I sprayed it again. He couldn't smell it at all unless he moved right next to me.
It was my very first experiment, but it told me something important: the scent can stay yours. Personal. Private. Just for you.
Now I'm working with my engineer on the next steps, like making sure the mist reaches you from everyday positions, and adding a discreet way to release it whenever you want.
Sōl is still in development, and I'm sharing every step: the wins, the questions, and the things I'm still figuring out. I don't want to build this for you. I want to build it with you.
If this story speaks to you, I'd love for you to join me on the journey. Sign up below to be the first to know when Sōl launches, and follow along on TikTok and Facebook as I bring it to life.
That moment with my watch and my oils changed everything for me. I can't wait to share where it leads.
With love,
